Mark Masons' Hall, 86 St. James’s Street, London
Hello,

Kelvin Lodge 742 celebrates 100 years – 2 November 2021

What a special celebration when Kelvin lodge celebrated 100 years of Mark Masonry, by Advancing Jamie Spooner.

He was conducted around the lodge by none other than the Provincial Grand Master, RW Bro. Thomas Quinn.

The ceremony started off with the WM Samuel Russell in the chair, for the first part. It was then handed over to W Bro. Wayne Larman to complete. That was not his only duty of the night. He went on to give historical details of Kelvin Lodges 100 years which met regularly during WW2 with the minutes for one meeting recorded as ‘No meeting held in October 1940 due to the war’.

The Provincial Grand Secretary, W Bro. Robert Anderson read out the original Warrant of the Lodge which was no easy task, being written so far back in history. This point was not lost on the very special guest. The Assistant Grand Master RW Bro. Stephen Davison.

Also in attendance was the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, the Assistant Provincial Grand Masters. Many Grand Officers and a delegation of provincial officers.

The Climax of the evening had to be a very well delivered lecture by W Bro. Ian Russell the father of the WM.

One piece of sadness was that the inner guard of the lodge was at Moorfields eye hospital, having metal removed from his eye.
