A special event for the MBF
Wednesday 30 March was a very special night in the Euston Dining Room at Mark Masons’ Hall as W. Bro. Martin Vidler had arranged a unique event for the most recent contributors to the Mark Benevolent Fund at Vice Patron level – the initial collarette stage. Some 23 Brethren signed up to attend Martin’s fine dining evening and to receive their collarettes (and Festival breast jewels) from the Deputy President of the MBF, R.W. Bro. David Ashbolt and the PGM. Our photographs show the collarettes displayed by Martin, David and Tom and the whole group proudly sporting their collarettes and afterwards at dinner.
As an additional piece of business, Martin had invited along, as his guest, Bro. Carl Fazackerley who is to be Loyalty Lodge’s next candidate for Advancement. Carl is a volunteer with St John’s Ambulance at its Wimbledon depot and the PGM surprised him with a cheque for £250 in favour of that charity, drawn on his Discretionary Fund. What else could Carl do but sign his registration form on the spot!?
The Province offers its very grateful thanks to all who attended last night and to all those other London Mark Brethren who continue to donate so generously towards our MBF. Watch out for news of another collarettes presentation and dining experience later in the year.
Details of the MBF Patronage Scheme can be found here. If you would like to know more or would like to start your own (regular) donations to the MBF please ask your Visiting Officer, whose details are on your Lodge Summons or available from your Lodge Secretary.
