Lodges of Special Opportunity
Lodges of Special Opportunity
We are aware that in many of our Lodges there could be rather a protracted period of waiting until the new Mark Master Mason has worked his way through the nine offices before reaching the Master’s Chair. We fully understand that this can sometimes appear a very lengthy process to experienced Masons and can be quite daunting, particularly to those who would like things to be swifter.
Working in conjunction with some of the smaller of our Lodges, we have developed an agreement with these Lodges that should you wish to progress through the Master’s Chair in a shorter timeframe, these Lodges are pleased to help by accelerating your progress to enable you to save up to 50% of qualifying time.
Without leaving your present Mark Lodge, you will need to join one of our LOSO Lodges and make a commitment to them to remain within the Lodge for some years after relinquishing the Chair. After all, they will be supporting and assisting you on your journey so it is only reasonable to ask for you to show your LOSO Lodge all the support and assistance you can give.
There follows a list of the LOSO Lodges with a very brief sentence or two which we hope will help you to select one or two to move forward with. Your initial contact should be through the Provincial Grand Secretary, whose email address is below. We look forward with anticipation, as a Province, to watching your progress in London Mark Masonry.

King Solomon’s Quarries Lodge No.828
Meets at Mark Masons’ Hall three times a year on the 4th Thursday in January, April (Installation) and November. The Lodge was consecrated on 24th March 1926 in the Royal Quarries of Solomon in Jerusalem at the time of the British Mandate for Palestine. To this day we are the only Mark Lodge in the U.K. permitted to meet either in Jerusalem or at Mark Masons’ Hall. Because the Lodge used to meet in the underground quarries in Jerusalem there are several ritual and procedural differences, including the layout of the Lodge and the use of Hebrew in part of the Advancement ceremony. These differences are still observed today and make KSQ a unique Lodge and one which the members wish to continue as such.
This is a small, friendly Lodge whose members have a diverse range of backgrounds, occupations and Masonic experience.
Foundation Lodge No.921
We are a small lodge but with an illustrious history. We meet twice a year on the 4th Monday in March and September at Mark Masons’ Hall. The Mark Lodge was consecrated in 1933 and so is celebrating its 90th anniversary in 2023. We would welcome members at any stage of their masonic career and can offer a fast track into the offices as well as Worshipful Master and Commander.
