Mark Masons' Hall, 86 St. James’s Street, London
Hello,

Full Team visit to the Savage Club on the 11th October

The Provincial Grand Master W. W. Bro. Thomas Quinn together with the Dep. Prov. G.M. V. W. Bro. Tim MacAndrews along with W. Bro’s Chris Damp and Marios Stylianides A. Prov. G.M’s. supported by a delegation of Provincial Grand Officers visited the Savage Club on the 11th October. The first important item on the agenda was to deliver the “Lecture on the Mark Master Masons’ Degree”. This was delivered in 3 parts, the first by the Worshipful Master W. Bro. Roger Hutchinson, the second part by Bro. Jon Barber and the third part by W. Bro. Andy Bowen and was well received by all in attendance. The second important item on the agenda was the elections which was in this case to re-elect our Master for a second year due to the fact he had not been able to complete a full year in office because of the rail strikes.

There were however two additional items not on the agenda, the first was to present W. Bro. Malcolm Leftley with his 50 year certificate having been Advanced into the lodge on the 14th March 1973. Regretfully W. Bro. Malcolm could not be at the actual meeting due to personnel circumstances however he did manage to get to MMH in time for the festive board.

The second item not on the agenda and therefore not seen by the PGM was to vote on the lodge donating the sum of £500 to the “London to Brighton Bike Ride” appeal. This having been discussed and agreed to by the member prior to the meeting.

Having surprised the PGM by this donation the PGM then turned the tables on an unsuspecting lodge Secretary by giving him a Field Promotion to P. Prov. GSW.

After the lodge was closed the Brethren retired to the festive board where the PGM finally managed to present W. Bro. Malcolm Leftley with his 50 year certificate. The Worshipful Master together with W. Bro. Malcolm Leftley then presented the cheque for £500 to W. Bro. Marios Stylianides for the “London to Brighton Bike Ride” appeal.
