Albatross Mark Lodge No.1994 Consecration 24th September 2018

11.00 am was the Tee time for the consecration of the newest Lodge in the Province, Albatross No 1994, under the direction of the Consecrating Officer R.W. Bro. David Frederick Ashbolt, Provincial Grand Master. He was ably assisted by a full team of Provincial Grand Officers including the ‘James Boys’ as cup bearers. The ceremony proceeded smoothly along the Fairway, with no-one getting into the any Rough patches.

After the reading of the warrant the Prov Grand Chaplain gave the oration on the nature and purpose of our institution which included a Slice of humour well known to and appreciated by the many avid golfers who were present as petitioners and visitors.

The Consecration was followed by the Installation of the Worshipful Master Designate W. Bro Simon McCarthy in the very capable hands of W. Bro Tim MacAndrews APGM and the investiture of the lodge officers. The lodge proved to be well on the way to setting its own traditions with the use of very distinctive gavels in the form of club heads, it will be interesting to see how long it takes for the lodge to be announced as Albatross No 199 fore!

Must Putter off now!
