Mark Masons' Hall, 86 St. James’s Street, London
Hello,

King Solomon’s Quarries Lodge of Mark Master Masons No. 828 and King Solomon’s Quarries Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No. 828

The Lodge was consecrated on 24 March 1926 in the Royal Quarries of Solomon in Jerusalem at the time of the British Mandate for Palestine. To this day we are the only Mark Master Masons Lodge in the U.K. permitted to meet either in Jerusalem or at Mark Masons’ Hall. Because the Lodge used to meet in the underground quarries in Jerusalem there are several ritual and procedural differences, including the use of Hebrew in part of the Advancement ceremony. These differences are still observed today and make KSQ a unique Lodge and one which the members wish to continue as such.
At the end of the Mandate in 1948 the Lodge returned to the U.K. and was re-established in 1956 and now meets at Mark Masons’ Hall. The Mark Lodge meets on the fourth Thursday in January, April (Installation) and November.
The Royal Ark Mariners Lodge was consecrated on 23 June 1993 with its members being mainly drawn from the Mark Lodge. The Lodge meets before the Mark meeting on the fourth Thursday in January and November and on the third Thursday in June (Installation).
This is a small, friendly Lodge whose members have a diverse range of backgrounds, occupations and Masonic experience. There is the opportunity to progress through the various offices in a relatively short space of time and applications are welcome from any member of a Craft Lodge wishing to become a member of Mark Masonry or from any Mark Mason looking to further their Masonic career.
Mark Masonry is known as ‘the fun degree’; you will not be disappointed!
