Maguncor Mark Lodge No. 833 8th March 2017
The Deputy PGM W.Bro Tom Quinn accompanied by a delegation of Provincial Grand Officers attended the installation of W Master Peter Lambert into the chair of Maguncor Mark Lodge in a ceremony full of tradition, nostalgia and remembrance. In keeping with the usual practice of the lodge the new master was presented with his master’s apron draped over the sword of Captain Bro. William A White V.C. once a member of the lodge. The Director of Ceremonies then gave a brief history of the two VCs who had been lodge members, the other being Major W.Bro James P Huffam V.C. and called on the brethren to remember them and all those called to the Grand Lodge above. A number of the delegation were also delighted to take part in the ceremony by standing in for various offices. Just before the meal we were all treated to the rare sight of a real Victoria Cross awarded in 1857 and which complemented the pictures and artefacts on display at the festive board.
