Mark Masons' Hall, 86 St. James’s Street, London
Hello,

Mark Prov Grand Officers Mess Thursday 30th October 2014

A very well attended Provincial Grand Officers Mess Annual Lunch at the Royal National Hotel was introduced by VW Bro Edwin Goodwin, Mess President and followed by W Bro Major Dennis Bradley, Mess Chairman.

W Bro Dennis paid a warm tribute to the late W Bro Wilfrid Horton who had been Mess Treasurer for 20 years and had died recently. The members stood in his memory.

W Bro Dennis then introduced Diane Clements, Director of the Library and Museum of Freemasonry in Great Queen Street who gave us a lecture on English Freemasons in the First World War. In a fascinating review of how Lodges fared during the 1914-18 war and of the brethren who had given their lives in the service of their Country, Diane gave us many insights into Masonic history of the period which eventually culminated in the building of Freemasons Hall which was completed in 1933.

The members enjoyed an excellent lunch and the raffle raised the sum of £665.

W Bro Dennis Bradley introduced W Bro Krit Nathoo who is the new Mess Treasurer and the members wished W Bro Krit well in his appointment.

Proceedings ended at 2.30pm.
