Public Schools Lodge No.791 celebrates a new WM – and a centenary!
On 14 June, members of Public Schools Lodge – in the presence of the Pro Grand Master, the Past Pro Grand Master and the Provincial Grand Master (supported by a very full delegation) – saw their new Worshipful Master, W Bro Richard Higginson, installed in an excellent and sincere manner by W Bro Oliver Handy.
Following the Installation, the Pro Grand Master took the Chair to present the Lodge with its centenary warrant and to say a few words of congratulations.
The 80 or so brethren then repaired to the dining room, where glasses of Champagne were eagerly consumed (it had been very warm in the Grand Temple!). There then followed a sumptuous 7-course banquet, which proved just how capable the catering staff at 86 are. A raffle then followed – featuring one of Jerry Gangadeen’s cakes as well as heads & tails. The evening ended with port and snuff.
All-in-all a superb evening, expertly organised by the Secretary Tony Selkus!
