Mark Masons' Hall, 86 St. James’s Street, London
Hello,

Record turn-out at the London Mark Golf Day

A record 79 players did battle on the fairways and greens of Chobham Golf Club on a fine but dull day (weather-wise). Teams from Kent, Dorset, Essex, Berkshire and London along with 4 local teams enjoyed the course which was presented very well.

A sumptuous table of food was supplied at the back of the 10th tee by the Cats Protection Ladies (but more Scotch Eggs next year, Allison!).

The day ran smoothly due to the assistance of the recorder Ken Humphreys, the starter David Ashbolt, plus Jerry Gangadeen and Ray Johnson. With such a large field there was a wait for the early starters who were very patient.
At the meal we were joined by ladies from the Cat Protection Society and 97 sat down for a superb Carvery meal and sweets of Jerry Gangadeen’s cakes and Vanda Ashbolt’s fruit salad.

A raffle and auction swelled the pot, and we were able to present a cheque for £1,000 to the Cats Protection. A further £1,350 was sent to the MBF.

Prizes were again donated by Ray Johnson and presented by Kessick Jones. They were spread out across the board as follows:
Team Winners were “Onslow Cowboys & Indian” with 130 points and consisted of Henry Hobson, Harriet Hobson, Nick Gimson and Tush Patel. Second place went to the “ The Furballs” and Third to “Pinewood Pussy Cats”. Best Individual was Kessick Jones with 45 points with David Black a close second.
First Ladies team were “Pussies Galore” with Vicky Wheeler, Karen King, Hilary Black and Trish Lynch and “Feisty Felines” second. First Ladies Individual was won by Harriet Hobson with 38 points and Pam Mace second with 37
Best par 3’s went to Kessick Jones, Jeff Partridge and Nick Gimson. Longest Drive went to Tush Patel and nearest the pin to Tim Sherwood.

A very successful day and we will do it all again on 19 August, 2019 – with lots more fun games to keep you occupied!
