The Provincial Grand Master reports on an MBF donation
“On Remembrance Day this week it was my great pleasure to attend the Side By Side School in North London which provides a high quality educational and therapeutic learning environment for special needs children from the Jewish community; plus an integrated nursery facility for infants, irrespective of learning abilities – hence the Side By Side element of the school’s ethos.
The funds provided by the MBF have been used to purchase bicycles and fund cycle tuition, to take the children out on to the streets to improve their life experiences and skills; something which also contributes a huge element of normality to their daily routines. After my initial presentation and the opportunity to interact with some of the children, the Head Teacher Gerald Lebrett, gave me a tour of the school – a most impressive and modern establishment. The staff all have a great passion for their work, which is reflected in the obvious enjoyment of the children I was pleased to be able to meet and chat to.”
