Mark Masons' Hall, 86 St. James’s Street, London
Hello,

WBro. Tim MacAndrews visits Brixton Lodge, one of our Special Opportunities lodges

The Assistant Provincial Grand Master W. Bro. Tim MacAndrews, together with a delegation of Provincial Grand Officers, visited Brixton Lodge on the occasion of the Installation of Bro. Michael Clarke into the chair of Adoniram. The installation was carried out by the outgoing Master W. Bro. George Cody. W. Bro. George who had already presided as Worshipful Commander in the preceding RAM meeting installed his successor in an exemplary and thoughtful manner which was very much appreciated by all those in attendance. The Worshipful Master then proceeded to invest and install his officers for the coming year whilst remaining seated as he had difficulty standing unaided.
At the 2nd rising the Charity steward rose and proposed that a sum of £100 be donated to the current provincial appeal in aid of the MBF appeal, Hope for Tomorrow. This was swiftly approved by the members present and a cheque for £100 was duly presented to the APGM. The APGM rose and thanked the members of the lodge for their contribution and said that the provincial executive would very much appreciate their donation considering the size of the lodge.
After the usual photographs the brethren retired to an extremely jovial festive board.

Brixton Lodge has been designated as a “Lodge of Special Opportunity” and, through this article, the PGM would like to take this opportunity to reinforce the message – that there are a few Lodges in our Province where extra support is needed – not just from new and aspiring Officers but from experienced Mark Masons too. Becoming a Joining Member of one of these Lodges need not be regarded as a life time commitment and would certainly be viewed as support for the Province in general and the selected Lodge in particular. If you yourself are interested or if you know of a Brother in the happy position to be able to support another Unit, then please contact or ask him to contact, the relevant Lodge Secretary or the PGM/Deputy PGM
